Breeding herds

Every female on time, every calf with a pedigree

Record heats, services, pregnancy checks and births, and FarmoraX works out each female's status and what's due next — with lineage at hand for every decision.

The challenge

What gets in the way

Missed heats and late checks

Every missed heat or late pregnancy check adds weeks to the calving interval.

Lineage lives in someone's head

Without recorded sires and dams, inbreeding risks and the best bloodlines are easy to miss.

Semen and service costs disappear

Straws, AI fees and natural service costs are rarely tied back to the animals they were spent on.

How FarmoraX helps

Your workflow, step by step

  1. Record the breeding events

Heats, services (AI or natural), pregnancy checks and abortions, each in a few taps from the animal's page or the breeding records.

    • AI straws from stock or outside sires
    • Own bulls and outside sires
    • Service cost added to the mother
  2. Know every female's status

FarmoraX works out whether each female is young, fresh, open, served or pregnant, and builds the due list from your species timings.

    • Gestation, heat cycle and rest periods per species
    • Pregnancy checks due
    • Births past due
  3. Record births and young stock

Births record twins, stillbirths and calving ease; calves are linked to their dam and sire, and weaning is tracked.

    • Calves get their own records
    • Weaning due list
    • Herd reports
  4. Breed better

See the family tree for any animal and get an inbreeding warning before a service.

    • Family tree
    • Inbreeding warnings
    • Semen straw stock per farm

Common questions

Which species does breeding support?

Breeding works for the species on your farm, with gestation, heat cycle, rest-after-birth, first-breeding and weaning timings set per species in Breeding setup.

Can I use it on a meat farm?

Yes. Breeding is a switch on each farm — it's on by default for breeding and dairy farms, and any meat farm can turn it on.

How is semen stock handled?

Straws are bought into stock per farm, can be moved between farms, and are used up when a service is recorded from stock.
